Accessing virtual film events:

When can I watch the films and join live Q+As?

Films will be available for streaming online between Dec 3 at 10AM EST to Dec 10 at 11:59pm EST through Eventive. Films will only be available in the US.
The live Q+A schedule is to be announced. Tickets will provide you access to film and specific filmmaker panels and can be purchased in advance or during these dates.
There are a limited number of tickets available for each event.

How will I receive access to the film and Q+A after purchasing a ticket?

Films will automatically become available on the Eventive platform on Dec 3, 10AM EST. You will receive an email reminder. You will have 7 days to start watching the film. Once you begin watching a film, you will have a limited amount of hours to complete your viewing. This viewing window cannot be extended. Please check individual film pages and confirmation emails for exact viewing window restrictions.

How can I watch a film on my TV?

Please check the Eventive FAQ for specific details.
If you have an Apple TV, Chromecast (3rd gen or later), or a smart TV enabled with AirPlay or Chromecast, set your computer, mobile device or browser to “AirPlay” or “cast” to the TV device. Unlock the program on Eventive Virtual, then set your player window to full-screen using the icon at the lower right.
Chromecast will work on select Android devices, see instructions above. Chromecast on iOS devices are not compatible with the Eventive platform.
See Eventive’s detailed instructions for their dedicated Apple TV and Roku apps in their FAQ here.
Important note: Due to content protection restrictions, the Screen Mirroring feature on Smart TVs and other devices cannot be used. Many browsers built into Smart TVs and other devices will NOT allow protected content to play.
You can also directly connect a laptop or computer using an HDMI cable.

Will there be a Q+A with filmmakers after the films?

There will be a live moderated Q+A with filmmakers via Zoom on scheduled dates and times. Audiences will be able to submit questions to panelists during the live Q+A. Recorded versions of the Q+A will be available as well on our YouTube channel the after the festival concludes.

Are the virtual screenings available to users located outside the US?

Unless otherwise stated, streamed films and conversations will only be accessible to people located within the US territories due to screening rights restrictions. Ma’abarot will be available in Canada.

I won’t be able to watch the film or join live Q+As during the festival dates. Is there a way for me to still watch the film?

No, the films will be available only Dec 3-10. Q+As, however, will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Can I share the screening link with others?

No. Links to films are only for the personal viewing of the individual who purchased a ticket. You may not forward or share the link with others.

Will tickets be available for purchase throughout the week of the festival?

Yes. For most events, tickets will be available between Dec 3-10. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each event.

How to use Zoom for live Q+As:

Joining a Zoom Q+A:

Q+As will take place via Zoom. We recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance onto your computer or smartphone. You can create an account to log-in, but it is not a requirement.

At the scheduled start time, click on the access link on directly on the Eventive page or in your access email, enter your email address and full name, and the conversation will automatically start once all panelists are ready. Conversations will become live on the scheduled Q+A start time.

Once joining the conversation, you have the option to turn on your camera to be visible to audience and panelists. Microphones will remain muted unless opened by the admin for you to ask a question.

Asking questions during Q+A

Questions to panelists can be submitted throughout the Q+A by typing them in the Chat feature on Zoom. You may also use the “Raise Hand” function. The moderator will choose which questions to direct to the panelists based on relevance and time restrictions. We do not guarantee all questions will be answered, or the order in which they are answered.

If your questions is picked – you will be notified via the Zoom Chat by a festival producer. When it is your turn to ask a question – the moderator will call your name, and your mic will be un-muted for you to ask your question live. If you do not want to ask your question live, please mention when submitting it in the chat for the moderator to read it out.

Please only submit one question, and keep questions short and concise.

Q+A etiquette:

Please engage respectfully. Any inappropriate or offensive conduct or comments during a Q+A may cause you to be removed from the Q+A session by our system administrator.
